This article is for private sellers and landlords who posted their property directly. If your listings come through broker syndication, edits and removals flow from your own feed automatically; see the broker syndication article.
Editing your listing
You can edit your listing anytime while it's active. Sign in, go to your dashboard, find your listing under "My Real Estate Posts," and click Edit.
What you can change:
- Description, features, photos, contact details: change anytime, takes effect immediately.
- Price: change anytime. Significant price changes (typically 10%+ in either direction) trigger a "Price changed" badge for a few days, which is visible to residents browsing the listing. This is intentional, residents who saved the listing earlier deserve to see that it's been adjusted.
- Listing type (paid post vs requested post): cannot change after posting. If you need to switch types, take down the current listing and post a new one.
Renewing before expiry
A few days before your post expires, we'll send you a reminder by email. The reminder includes a one-click link to renew for the same duration you originally chose, or to pick a different one.
You can also renew anytime from your dashboard before the reminder arrives. Renewing extends the post from the current expiry date forward, you don't lose any time you've already paid for.
If you don't renew, the post comes down at the end of the paid period. Nothing stays live without active payment.
Removing your listing early
If your property sold, was rented, or you've decided to take a different path, you can remove the listing anytime. Sign in, go to your dashboard, click the listing, and click Remove.
We don't refund partial periods. If you paid for 3 months and remove the listing after 1 month, the remaining 2 months are not refunded. The reason is operational: payment processing fees and the manual review effort are real costs that are spent regardless of how long the listing runs.
That said, if you have a special circumstance, write to us. We don't make money on partial refunds, but we do our best to be reasonable when something unusual happens.
Marking a listing as sold or rented
You can also mark a listing as "sold" or "rented" without removing it entirely. The listing stays visible for a few more days with a clear status badge, then comes down. This is useful if you want to give residents who reached out time to see the resolution, or if you'd like to leave a small trail of completed transactions on your profile.
Reposting after expiry
If your post expired and you still need to sell, rent, or find something, you can repost. There's no discount for reposting, the new post is treated like a new post, fresh review, fresh paid period. We do this deliberately: it keeps the real-estate section feeling current, and prevents stale listings from haunting the feed long after they've stopped being relevant.
