We support three ways to sign in. You can use any one, or switch between them depending on the device you're on. They all lead to the same account.
Password
The traditional way: you enter your email and a password you chose when you signed up. If you can remember a password, this is the fastest method on a computer.
To set or change your password:
- Sign in by any method.
- Go to Settings → Sign-in & Security.
- Click Change password.
- Enter your current password (or use a password reset email if you don't remember it), then your new password twice.
If you forgot your password:
Click Forgot password? on the sign-in page. We'll email you a link to set a new one. The link expires after 30 minutes for security; if it's been longer, just request a new one.
A good password is something a stranger can't guess but you can remember. The platform doesn't enforce specific complexity rules, but a longer passphrase ("blue river morning coffee") is more secure than a short one with a number stuck on the end.
Magic link
If you don't want to remember a password (or you've forgotten it), you can sign in with a magic link instead. This is the easiest method on phones.
How it works:
- On the sign-in page, click Sign in with email link.
- Enter your email and click Send link.
- Check your inbox. We send a one-click link.
- Click the link. You're signed in.
The link works once and expires after 15 minutes. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. If it's still missing, request another one.
This method is convenient, but it depends on you having access to your email at sign-in time. If your phone has trouble loading email, use SMS instead.
SMS
For a phone-first sign-in, we can send a 6-digit code to your registered phone number.
How it works:
- On the sign-in page, click Sign in with SMS.
- Enter the phone number on your account.
- We send a 6-digit code by SMS.
- Enter the code in the field that appears.
The code expires after a few minutes. If you don't receive it, wait 30 seconds and request another (we limit how often we'll send to prevent abuse). If you've changed your phone number and can't access SMS for the old one, write to us, we'll help you regain access.
Which method should I use?
- On your computer, day to day: password is fastest if you remember it. Magic link is fine if you don't.
- On your phone, day to day: magic link or SMS, whichever you find easier.
- From a public computer or someone else's device: use magic link or SMS, and remember to sign out when you're done.
- If you're locked out: magic link or SMS will get you back in without needing to remember anything.
A note on security
Whichever method you use, sign in only on devices you trust. If you're at a friend's house or using a public computer, sign out when you're done. The platform's "sign out from all devices" option (in settings) is there for the rare case where you've forgotten to sign out somewhere; it kicks every active session immediately.
